Пояснительная записка

31 марта 2022 в актовом зале ОП № 6 Колледжа Связи № 54 было проведено внеклассное

мероприятие «Литературный Карнавал». Хотя наше учебное заведение имеет в основном

технический профиль, я как преподаватель английского языка, считаю подобную

практику очень полезной. Такие мероприятия позволяют не только поднять интерес

студентов к предмету, расширяют кругозор, поднимают общий уровень культуры, но и

помогают развивать творческие способности студентов. Умение подобрать информацию,

подать материал в лучшем виде, найти в себе смелость выступить перед публикой,

преодолеть языковые трудности – все эти моменты также содействуют самовоспитанию и

формированию характера подростка. В подготовке и проведении данного мероприятия

участвовали студенты 1-2-х курсов.

Цели мероприятия:

1.

Ознакомить студентов с выдающимися произведениями англоязычной литературы.

2.

Ознакомить студентов с фактами из биографии знаменитых писателей и поэтов

Великобритании и США.

3.

Развивать творческие способности студентов.

4.

Развивать учебные умения студентов (умение работать с литературой, выступать

на сцене, декламировать стихи).

5.

Воспитывать чувство ответственности за порученное дело и за итог в целом.

6.

Содействовать вовлечению студентов в диалог культур через умение находить

аналогию и проводить параллели со знакомой им русской литературой.

7.

Совершенствование умения работать в команде.

Вступительное слово. Good afternoon, dear friends! We are glad to see you here. Our today’s event is

devoted to the works of famous English and American writers. Let’s start our performance.

Студент Literature is the mirror of our life. It shows the history of people, who created it, their

achievements and difficulties. History begins with the legends about the events which happened many

centuries ago. The legends turn into fairy-tales and their characters become the symbols of the country’s

culture. Robin Hood is a favourite character of the English people. The legends about him is the classic of

the English literature. Do you know the author of the book?

historical writing and is considered to be its greatest practitioner. Born in Edinburgh Scotland, Scott was

the first modern English writer to have an international career, his works enjoying wide readership across

Europe, North America and Australia.

Студент Robin Hood is the hero of medieval English folk ballads, the leader of the forest robbers.

According to legend, he and his gang lived in the woods near Nottingham and fought for justice - robbed

rich knights and priests, giving the loot to the poor.

I.

Mary. – Jane, read what is written in this paper.

Jane: – “Fifty pounds for Robin Hood! The Sheriff of Nottingham”

Mary. – We must tell Robin about it. He must be careful.

Jane. – Robin Hood! We have something to tell you.

Robin. – Hello, Jane! Hello, Mary! What has happened?

Mary. – We saw a paper on a wall in a town of Nottingham. It says fifty pounds for you!

Jane. – The paper is written by the Sheriff. Be, careful, Robin! He wants to catch you.

Robin. – Don’t worry about me, children! I am not afraid of the Sheriff. I’ll go to see him myself, and he

will give me fifty pounds to find me.

Sheriff: – What do you want, old man?

Robin. – I can show you the place, where Robin Hood lives.

Sheriff: – Can you? I’ll give you fifty pounds if you take me to Robin Hood.

Robin. – Come to the old tree near the forest tomorrow and you will see him. Don’t forget to bring fifty

pounds.

Sheriff: – And who are these children?

Robin. – They are my grandchildren and my friends. I am an old man and they help me. Come, children,

we must go.

III

Sheriff: – This is the old tree, but I don’t see the old man.

Robin. - Here I am, Sheriff!

Sheriff: – It’s a trap!

Robin. – So, you have come. You haven’t broken your yesterday promise.

Sheriff: – I didn’t see you yesterday.

Robin. – Yes, you did. I was the old man who came to your office. Now I want my fifty pounds.

Sheriff: – So you were the old man with two children! You have played a trick on me! I won’t give you the

money. You live in the forest and you don’t need money.

Robin. – I don’t want the money for myself. I want to give it to poor people.

Sheriff: – Remember, Robin Hood, I’ll catch you some day.

Robin. – One, two, three! Try and catch me!

Студент Jane Eyre lost her parents early, and now lived with her aunt, Mrs. Reed. Mrs. Reed

was not her own aunt, but only the widow of her mother's brother. The family — Mrs. Reed

herself, her children treated her very cruelly, loved to harass Jane, start quarrels with her, and

then expose her to blame for everything. Having no desire to bother with the stepdaughter , Mrs.

Reed decided that it was time to send Jane to school.

Студент Characters : Jane Eyre is an orphan, purposeful, honest and kind girl. Mrs. Reed is

Jane's aunt, who sent her to an orphanage. Mr. Brocklehurst is one of the trustees of the

orphanage, a cruel and greedy man.

Mrs Reed: Good afternoon , Mr Brocklehurst.

Mr Brocklehurst: Mrs Reed.

Mrs Reed: Do come this way.

Mrs Reed: Be seated. Tea?

John: Yes, Mum.

Mrs Reed: Jane’s parents died when she was a few months.

Mr Brocklehurst: Are you her only living relative?

Mrs Reed: There’s an uncle, her father’s brother. He lives abroad. I have done what I can for this child,

but she has a willful, obstinate nature. Come in Jane!

( Jane comes in)

Mrs Reed: Ah, here she is. This is Jane Eyre. Jane, this is Mr Brocklehurst of Lowood School.

Jane: How do you do, sir?.

Mr Brocklehurst: I hear you are a wicked child, Jane Eyre. Let me examine you. Do you know where the

wicked go after death?

Jane: To hell.

Mr Brocklehurst: What is hell? Can you tell me that?

Jane: A pit full of fire.

Mr Brocklehurst: And would you like to fall into that pit… and to burn there forever?

Jane: No, sir.

Mr Brocklehurst: What must you do to avoid it?

Jane: Keep well and not die, sir.

Mr Brocklehurst: Wrong! Children younger than you die all the time.

Mrs Reed: It is as I said. You must warn her teachers to keep a strict eye on her, and above all: she has a

tendency to deceit. She is a dishonest child, a liar.

Mr Brocklehurst: A lair? We don’t tolerate that at Lowood.

Mrs Reed: As for the vocations… I would prefer if she spent them at school.

Mr Brocklehurst: Of course. Come here. Jane, deceit is a sin.

Jane: I beg your pardon, sir. I am not deceitful. I am not a liar. If I told lies, I would say I loved you! But I

don’t, I hate you! I will never call you aunt again as long as I live. If anyone asks how you treated me, I

will tell them the truth, that you were very cruel to me. People think you are a good woman, but you are

lying to them! I hate living here.

Mrs. Reed: Do you see what a wicked child she is?

Mr Brocklehurst: Have no fear, Mrs Reed. Life at Lowood will do her good. At Lowood we’ll tame her

unruly spirit.

Mrs Reed: Thank you, Mr Brocklehurst.

poet, and novelist. He was born in India, which inspired much of his work. Kipling's works of fiction

include The Jungle Book, Kim, and many short stories, including "The Man Who Would Be King".

Студент Oscar Wilde is a famous English poet, writer and playwright of the Victorian era, who was a

notable figure of his time. His bright personality, talent, sharp wit and ability to shine in society quickly

rallied people around him who listened to his every word. He wrote the famous novel "Portrait of Dorian

Gray", which to this day is considered a classic of world literature.

Virg. - Sorry to trouble you, sir. I just wanted to say how much I am sorry for you! Tomorrow my brothers are

going back to school. Nobody will offend you, if you promise to behave well.

GH. - But how can I behave well? I am a ghost! I must walk at night, must moan, and must clank my chains! This

is the reason of my existence.

Virg. - I see no reason in it. Mrs. Umney told us you had killed your wife. Gh. –Yes, I had. But it’s my own

business.

Virg. - No, it isn’t. It’s very bad to kill people. Gh- But you didn’t know her. She was ugly! Besides she couldn’t

cook at all. Yes, I killed her, but why did her brothers made me die of hunger?

Virg. - You died of hunger? Poor mister Ghost! Are you still hungry? I’ve got some cheese sandwiches. Would you

like one?

GH- I am afraid, no, young lady. I have gone without food for 300 years. But it was rather nice of you to offer me a

sandwich. Cheese, you say? You are a nice young lady, much better than all your American family!

Virg. - You mustn’t say so! It’s you who is awful! Who has stolen all my paints to renew this stupid blood spot!

First you took the reds so that I couldn’t paint sunsets, then you stole the yellow ones. And yesterday you took the

green emerald! How could blood be green?

GH- But what should I do! It’s too difficult now to find real blood. You say “green”- well, why not? We, the

Canterville have the blue blood. But I think you Americans don’t mind.

Virg- Every American family would be glad to have a true family ghost. Would you like me to ask my dad? He

could buy you a ticket to America.

GH- I’m afraid, I don’t like your America. Virg. - OK, sir, stay alone then.

GH- Don’t leave, miss Virginia, I beg you! I’m so lonely and unhappy. I don’t know what to do! Most of all I’d

like to fall asleep, but I can’t.

Virg- You should just go to bed and close your eyes. GH- It’s impossible. I haven’t been sleeping for 300 years!

I feel so tired!

Virg- Oh, my poor, miserable ghost! Don’t you know such a place where you could fall asleep?

GH-Yes, I do. Far-far away there is a small garden, the grass is long and soft there, the flowers are as white as stars

and a nightingale sings there all the night.

Virg- You are speaking about the garden of death, don’t you?

GH- Yes, my child. How nice it would be to rest there. And this is you who can open me the gates of this garden.

Virg- Me? GH- Yes, you. Have you ever read the oracle on the window?

Virg- Yes, I’ve read it many times. I remember it: But I don’t understand what it means.

GH- It means that if you cry for me and pray for my soul, the Angel of Death would be merciful to me. It won’t be

easy for you, as demons would scare you, but if you stay kind and pure and loving as you are they won’t do any

harm to you. Virg- I am not scared. I’ll pray for you and the Angel of Death would become merciful.

When young and pure virgin will deliver a pray

From all her heart to gracious skies,

When almond tree will blossom in the moonlight

The Ghost will stop his endless painful flight

And washed with tears prediction will fulfill

And peace would come again to Canterville
